Born and raised in Brookfield, I am proud to be putting down roots in the same community that I grew up in. Whether it’s volunteering for the Pancreatic Cancer PurpleStride charity walk, which we recently brought to Milwaukee’s Lakefront, or giving tennis lessons through the local Boys and Girls Clubs, I have always strived to be an active member of our community. At GLO, that sense of serving the community extends through every aspect of our work.
After graduating from Brookfield Central High School, I pursued higher education at Kalamazoo College, in Kalamazoo, Michigan (“Yes, there really is a Kalamazoo!”). This small liberal arts school was a perfect fit, allowing me to compete in collegiate tennis without sacrificing academic standards. It also gave me access to “K” College’s exceptional study abroad program – through which I was able to live, work and attend school in Bonn, Germany for six months during my junior year.
After Kalamazoo, I enrolled in the University of Wisconsin Law School. I started working for GLO as a paralegal after my second year at UW and stayed on as an attorney after being admitted to the Wisconsin Bar in August of ’09.
In my time at GLO, I have had the honor to meet many hard-working Wisconsinites who, through car accidents, malicious business practices, or intentional disregard for their rights, have suffered at the hands of others and desire to be made whole again. I have worked closely with clients and experts to bring resolution to cases ranging from personal injury claims and wrongful death claims to economic claims for breach of contract and unjust enrichment.
At GLO, I strive to bridge the gap for clients between the theoretical cause of action when a client walks in the door to the ultimate resolution of their case. Utilizing our specialized knowledge and experience to get clients the results they desire and to get their lives back to normalcy is a special type of law in action, and I have the distinct pleasure of being able to experience this type of law in action on a daily basis.
Milwaukee Magaizine honors James J. Gende II as a “Rising Star"
Milwaukee Magazine in coordination with Super Lawyers named James J. Gende II a Rising Star attorney in December 2007. The designation puts Attorney Gende in the top 2.5% of the best up-and-coming attorneys in Wisconsin. After attorneys are surveyed and extensive independent credentials researched, Super Lawyers are then asked to vote for the best attorneys who are 40 or under. The Super Lawyers vote for Rising Stars they have personally observed in action - whether as opposing counsel, co-counsel, or through other first-hand courtroom observation.
